Home Business Success
Home based business success is a hot topic all over the net. This is because money has become the medium by which most people define success. Everywhere you see the ads, posts, blogs, etc. that define and describe this monetary view of success. Now don't misunderstand, money is a necessary tool in virtually every economy in the world today. What I am getting at though is that money is just a tool. It is not an end in itself and that the personal definition of success for one might not be at all the definition for someone else. As a network marketer, I feel like it is time for people to stop speaking of success in terms of how much money we make and consider three other options: 1. Success should be based in how many people benefit from our knowledge, skill, and wisdom. If we are successful at the expense of the greatest number of our downline, then we are not really successful. The more of our team that succeeds the more successful we have become. 2. Success should be based on the freedoms that our business affords us. A pile of money with no time or inclination to use it is just a pile of money and nothing more. Wealth left in the bank is nothing more than unused potential. 3. Success should be measured by our inclination toward making the world a better place. This to me is where the proverbial rubber meets the road. If we live all of our lives in the relative comfort that money affords us while at the same time seeking to effect no change in the condition of our world, then we have wasted our lives. One famous philanthropist said that the first half of life should be spent making money and the second half should be spent giving it away! As I implied before, I am not suggesting that someone who works hard and smart should not receive any creature comforts for that work, but there should be more to success than mere creature comforts. Just think about it! |
